When looking to transform a special event or a holiday party into a remarkable and memorable experience, one should consider decorating the festive dinner with several assorted celebratory hampers for a maximum aesthetic effect. Combining aesthetics with practicality, and having a long history behind them, (there is a long tradition of having beautifully ornamented hampers containing various combinations of festive foods and beverages at special events, as well as exchanging such festive hampers on Christmas, Easter and other holidays) assorted hampers are the best way to emphasize the holiday atmosphere, transform a festive event of great significance into an enjoyable experience for everyone or to show your gratitude, appreciation and respect towards someone by offering them as a gift. The more appealing and beautifully decorated the hamper, the more a celebration gains in terms of aspect, party atmosphere and good-taste.

Before deciding upon the content of your festive hamper, always pay attention to the aspect of the hamper itself; you should make sure that it has a beautiful, original design and is suitable for the event that you are organizing. Although nowadays festive hampers are constructed from a variety of modern materials (including acrylic fiber), it is best to opt for woven hampers created from plant fibers in order to obtain the best decorative effect; apart from preserving the traditional figure of hampers, natural materials are also more appealing, denoting good-taste and a fine sense of aesthetics. As long as your festive hamper respects the previously mentioned condition, it can have any shape and size you want. However, always make sure that the size and design of your festive hamper are appropriate for the items it will contain.

Once you have decided upon a suitable shape and size, you need to decide what items it will contain (festive foods, sweets and fine beverages are the most common items included inside festive hampers). Make sure that the items you decide to include in your festive hampers are complementary (for instance, chocolates go hand in hand with sweet wine derivates such as champagne) and always try to obtain a good aesthetic effect with your combinations.

The possibilities of ornamenting the festive hamper are endless: you can opt for seasonal classic foods, festive cakes, chocolate and other desserts, fine beverages such as wines and champagne, and so on. For a more pretentious occasion, you can also opt for Port and Stilton baskets or for other luxurious food and drinks combinations. Port and Stilton baskets (Port refers to the famous Port wine, also known as Vinho do Porto, while Stilton refers to a special variety of English cheese) make the perfect gifts or can be used at exquisite events.

With a little imagination, you can transform your hampers into genuine works of art. However, take note that the preparation and decoration of festive hampers is laborious and involves investing a lot of time and effort. The good news is that you can order beautifully decorated ready-made hampers instead of spending loads of time picking the appropriate items and ornamenting them yourself. The offer of ready-made hampers is extremely varied and accounts for any occasion: assorted hampers (generally include beautifully decorated seasonal foods, desserts and beverages), wine gifts, Port and Stilton, chocolate selections (combinations of fine chocolates and champagne or wine), beer selections (combinations of various European beers) and so on. When you want to enter in possession of a rich and beautifully decorated hampers, all you have to do is employ the services of a dedicated online or offline supplier and your order will be handled with professionalism.

Giving an eco-friendly or environmentally friendly food gift basket is a great way to help the environment. Whether you buy the gift basket or make it yourself, the environment will be better off for it. Think recycled paper (100% post-consumer, waste/process, chlorine-free paper,) organic where possible, living foods, recycling and composting. Just follow these simple instructions for making your gift basket.

First of all, decide on what food theme you’d like for your environmentally friendly gift basket. Some ideas are: organic fruit, organic foods, organic vegan, organic vegetarian, living foods or wheatgrass gift basket.

Once you’ve decided on the theme for the environmentally friendly gift basket, decide whether you’ll be using organic items or products, organic hardy fruits, organic pre-packaged or homemade foods, or fair trade items like coffee and chocolates.

Next, decide on what items will go into the environmentally friendly gift basket.

For an organic fruit gift basket you’ll want to use organic, hardy fruits that will hold up well like: apples, pears, oranges, tangerines, grapefruit, fuyu persimmons, pineapples, pomegranates, kiwis, baby kiwis, mango, papaya, nasturtiums, pansies or other flowers. These fruits will eventually decompose so take that into consideration.

For an organic food gift basket some ideas are: fruits, vegetables, herbal teas, specialty teas, shade-grown fair trade coffees, fair trade cocoas, fair trade chocolate, trail mix, packaged raw nuts, nuts in the shell, a quality nutcracker, hardy fruits, healthy snacks, organic popcorn, homemade foods, homemade jams, cinnamon sticks, vegan, vegetarian or raw food cookbooks, your favorite vegan, vegetarian or raw food recipe printed neatly on a 3×5 card made of recycled paper, books about organic foods, health, nutrition or energy bars, small bamboo cutting boards, bamboo skewers, non-plastic cooking tools, non-plastic, wooden eating utensils, edible nasturtiums, or other flowers for decoration.

For an organic living foods gift basket some ideas are: raw food ‘uncookbooks’, your favorite raw food recipe printed neatly on a 3×5 card made of recycled paper, packaged raw food crackers, raw food cookies, homemade or pre-packaged raw food brownies, jar of organic tahini, jar of organic almond butter or cashew butter or macadamia butter, jar of organic olives, jar of raw sauerkraut, jar of raw dressing, jar of raw salsa, or a jar of raw, unfiltered farm honey (keep in mind some raw food vegans don’t eat honey.)

For an organic wheatgrass gift basket you can use: wheatgrass growing supplies, organic soil, wheatgrass seeds, books about wheatgrass or wheatgrass growing, or books by Ann Wigmore.

Now that you’ve decided on the theme and what items to use it’s time to put your environmentally friendly food gift basket together.

For gift containers you can choose from: fair trade baskets, wooden baskets, wooden bowls, fiber baskets, straw baskets, locally made pottery, buckets, non-aluminum, non-Teflon cooking pots and pans, large tea pots, potted plant holders, wire baskets, large pasta bowls, large popcorn bowls, clay pots, colanders, fabric gift bags, used baskets and containers from Goodwill Industries and Salvation Army stores or anything recyclable.

For gift basket liner you can use: shredded newspaper, organic cotton tea towels, organic cotton dish towels, organic cotton hand towels, colored recyclable napkins, organic cloth napkins, or fabric pieces.

For gift basket filler, if needed, you can use: crumpled newspaper comics, straw or use your imagination.

And for gift basket wrap and tie you can use: recyclable paper, butcher paper, newspaper, newspaper comics, or reusable brown paper bags. Also check with the Salvation Army or Goodwill Industries stores for inexpensive recyclable wrapping paper. Tie with jute or raffia twine for a simple rustic look or leave the gift basket unwrapped.

Now the instructions for putting your friendly gift basket together - first start with your chosen container. Place the liner inside and add the basket filler. Arrange the items with the tallest in back. If needed, fill any holes with organic wrapped candies or crumpled shredded recycled paper. Cover with wrap and tie with jute or raffia twine. Don’t forget the personalized, recycled card. If you’re using a homemade card include a great, happy, positive uplifting, spine-tingling favorite quote or saying. That’s it! You should have a fine-looking eco-friendly, environmentally friendly food gift basket!

Christmas gifts are one of the key attractions of Christmas. As a parent, Christmas may be a giving you a headache because you need to know what is the most popular Christmas gifts are for kids. Christmas Gifts are quite a difficult thing to choose.

Christmas gifts are more about the sentiment than the price tag. Christmas gifts are not hard to find, since during the holiday seasons, there are lots of options for you. I would have to agree that homemade christmas gifts are a great idea and friends and family absolutely love them.

Make sure your homemade Christmas gifts are practical. It doesn’t have to be expensive and it doesn’t have to be huge as long as this year’s Christmas gifts are right on target. Personal Christmas gifts are becoming more and more popular each year. These Christmas gifts are great for the holidays and stuffing the stockings.

Wines and cigars as Christmas gifts are bound to strike the right chord for the men folk. To make your loved ones feel special Christmas gifts are ideal.

When it comes to Christmas gifts, many parents have no idea what the most popular Christmas gifts are for that year. But Christmas gifts are reciprocal; one cannot under-buy, one cannot be outdone. Most Christmas gifts are physical objects, capable of being wrapped and set under the tree.

Children’s Christmas gifts are probably the most exciting type of presents to shop for during the festive period, and are often the most affordable, too. Christmas gifts are a gesture of showing our love and concern for those who are special.

In most of the world, Christmas gifts are given at night on Christmas Eve, or in the morning on Christmas Day. Most exchange Christmas gifts and decorate their homes with holly, mistletoe, and Christmas trees, under which the Christmas gifts are stored. In fact, inexpensive handmade Christmas gifts are often the most cherished items under the tree. For most of the world, Christmas gifts are given at night on Christmas Eve (24 December) or alternatively in the morning on Christmas Day.

The best christmas gifts are always the unusual and different rather than the socks from Aunt Jessica or the tie from a sister Sue. Hand-made Christmas gifts are a fantastic idea and will make a lasting impression on the recipient for years to come.

Before you go out and buy some baby Christmas gifts, first realize for whom those baby Christmas gifts are really for: the parents. Christmas gifts are meant to be reminders of the gifts of the wisemen to the infant Jesus. Christmas gifts are usually wrapped beautifully in bright paper, sometimes with ribbons and bows and other adornments.

Christmas gifts are the most popular Christmas purchase, most adults have to buy Christmas gifts for lots of family members and close friends. A few good ideas for last minute Christmas gifts are ornaments, plants, wine baskets, hot chocolate or coffee baskets, coffee mugs, and many other ideas. Alternative Christmas gifts are a meaningful way to give a gift that keeps on giving.

Unique Christmas gifts are available for all budgets; just because a gift is individual does not mean that it has to be expensive. Christmas gifts are always great but there’s just something delightfully extra about receiving a gift for no particular reason. So once again I am reminded that the best Christmas gifts are not the ones you buy in the store. Skip the Boring Christmas Gifts this Year Christmas gifts are often bought last-minute and not a lot of thought is put into them. Favorite Christmas gifts are typically the most unlikely.

Giving an eco-friendly or environmentally friendly bath and spa gift basket is a great way to help the environment. Whether you buy the gift basket or make it yourself, the environment will be better off for it. Think recycled paper (100% post-consumer, waste/process, chlorine-free paper), organic where possible, and recycling. Just follow these simple instructions for making your bath and spa gift basket.

First of all you’ll need to decide whether you’ll be using organic items or products, fair-trade items like soaps, items of clothing like new socks made from recycled cotton, or recyclable used items. You probably won’t want to use any chocolate or food items in this basket. They generally don’t go well with fragrance items. But use your judgment.

Next decide on what items will go into the environmentally friendly bath and spa gift basket.

For an organic and vegan bath or spa gift basket you can use: natural fiber sponges, pumice stone, towels, scrubs, organic and vegan soaps, fair-trade soaps, all natural toothpaste, organic lotions and shampoos without hormone-disrupting methylparabens or other toxic preservatives or additives, terry cloth and other types of bath pillows (very popular), spa pillows (very popular too), spa supplies, natural hair brushes, natural foot brushes, candles, aromatherapy goods, organic cotton socks, CDs of nature sounds or other soothing music, handwritten poem on recycled paper, birthday poem, inspirational book, book of poetry, Zen alarm clock, fair-trade art, handmade costume jewelry, stones, crystals, beautiful rocks, homemade items or a no-expiration gift certificate to a store that specializes in environmentally friendly items.

My daughter’s first apartment was a real adventure. She and her dormitory roommate from college decided to move in together, even though neither of them had a lot of money. They had started in nice careers, but putting a deposit down on an apartment, buying basic furniture and paying off student loans used up a lot of their money. Using the decorating style known as “late basement/early attic”, they begged borrowed and stole some pieces but needed some unique decorating touches to make the apartment truly their own.

Their plan was to decorate the place and then invite all of the parents for a nice dinner and to view the results.

Well, their decorating efforts took about six weeks, but the day finally arrived and we were invited to dinner. I wanted to bring a nice house gift, and, knowing my daughter’s fondness for bamboo baskets, I filled one with soap, hand cream and small hand towels for her new bathroom. As soon as my daughter saw the basket in my hands, she started laughing. It was not until I stepped into her apartment that I realized what was so funny. There were bamboo baskets everywhere, since this is how they decided to have a unique and inexpensive decorating scheme. Bamboo baskets were placed around the room for various uses, there were bamboo place mats and the theme was carried to the flooring with grass mats.

The bedroom had an oriental theme, and large bamboo baskets formed the bases for her bedside tables. They were very sturdy and shaped like vases, and with a round glass on top, there were perfect to place a lamp, a clock and some books. Her closet organizing system was a series of bamboo baskets and a bamboo hamper.

I was very glad I brought a bamboo basket for the bathroom. Bamboo is a neutral color that goes in any room. My daughter said I gave her the idea to put some large baskets (to match the small one) on the floor of the bathroom to hold towels, since they had no linen closet to store towels.

I was very proud of how my daughter decorated her small apartment with a lot of taste and very little money. As she saves money to decorate, she can add on to these items and make it look even better. I’m happy she is having such a good time decorating her first real apartment and she is so proud to be doing it herself with money from her first big job.

If you own a gift basket business, want to start one or add one to an existing related business, consider taking your products and gift basket business online. You’ll need to plan ahead and know how you’re going to market it first. Anyone can set up a website but no one will know it’s there until you drive traffic to it. So you’ll need to learn a few Internet marketing tips, tricks and techniques. I’ve outlined some of my most important gift basket business tips in the following list:

1. Learn copywriting tricks to help you write your website pages. Write like you talk, use contractions, short sentences, and learn the rules for title capitalization. Articles (like ‘a’, ‘an’, etc.) and connector words are not capitalized unless they’re the first word in a sentence. Prepositions are not capitalized if they have four letters or less. Check on the Internet and keep a stylebook or grammar book handy.

2. Choose the easiest website builder available. Text (WYSIWYG -‘what you see is what you get’) editor or html editor? A text editor for website building is best. You don’t need to use an html editor like Frontpage or Dreamweaver to put up a great website! And many report they’re difficult to use. You want a website builder with an easy interface. Plan to be your own Webmaster rather than farming out work to Webmasters or programmers. Expenses can add up fast and you may need to make changes several times a week. Initially it’ll take some time and devotion to learn how to do it, but you’ll have that knowledge forever. You can build even more websites and get paid for consulting too.

3. Choose a good Web host. Make sure the host offers unlimited amounts of email addresses and lots of bandwidth or data transfer. Call or email support to see how fast they respond. If your website ever goes down in a high traffic period you’ll want to be able to get in touch with them fast. There are hundreds of Web hosts. Read what several Web host reviewers report before you decide. They’re usually pitching an affiliate Web host or two and may not be objective. Look for complaints on the search engines about specific hosts you’re researching. Sign up for monthly service rather than annual service so you can evaluate further if necessary.

4. Choose the right primary and secondary keywords for your site. Do your research BEFORE you publish. The competition will be high for common words and you’ll likely not end up on the first page. There are several free keyword tools available. In the search engines type in gift basket-related words in quotes to see what the competition is using. How many pages come up? How many visitors for that keyword or keyword phrase? Right click on ‘view source’ to see the keywords in html. Look for keywords in the website and ad headlines and descriptions.

5. Write your marketing plan BEFORE you start buying any equipment or software, or building your website. You’ll need to know HOW you’re going to market your site BEFORE you start building it. Will you be adding affiliates to your site? Google AdSense? Will you offer a newsletter? Will you be selling other physical products besides your gift baskets? Or maybe you only want a site to market a digital product like an ebook about gift baskets? Plan to submit gift basket-related articles using an article distribution service and press releases using press distribution software. You’ll get sought-after inbound links through the reprinting of your articles and press releases. Also sign up for a good link service.

6. Choose the right affiliates if you plan to include affiliate marketing. Make sure the affiliates fit with your gift basket theme. Don’t add totally unrelated banners.

7. Learn how to use eBay in your marketing plan for an extra boost in sales and exposure. Use the “About Me” page to hype your website.

8. Learn html code — optional but I highly recommend it. Use a simple free tutorial offered on the Internet. You don’t have to write code unless you want to. It’s not necessary with the text editors out there that do the work for you. You could spend hours writing html. Why do that? You can learn the basics in a day or so. You don’t have to learn the advanced code. Even if you only take two or three lessons you’ll be way ahead of the game.

9. Learn how to write a free newsletter to boost your online presence. Take dozens of other free newsletters in various fields of interest and study style and techniques. Offer your free newsletter in the beginning when you first publish your site to start collecting subscribers. Don’t wait until later.

10. Choose an autoresponder service to handle your newsletter database, send out newsletter inquiry responses and free reports you’re offering. This is a must if you plan to have a newsletter. It’s the best way to handle your subscribers, send out confirmations, and get your newsletter out, etc. It usually costs about $20 per month.

Make sure to back-up everything. Back up your website files daily, if you make any changes. I know this is basic. Make copies of your site to CDs often. Put website copies on another computer hard drive. Network two computers if possible. Anything can happen to your hard drive. A surge, lightning, age, drive defect, etc., can damage your hard drive in an instant.

These are just a few of the gift basket business tips you can use to get your online gift basket business up and running. It takes research and hard work but it’ll be well worth the effort in an increased customer base and a big boost in income.

When you do get your gift basket website up, if you plan it right, it can mean lifetime income. With weekly maintenance— adding rich content, more pages, affiliates, products and specialty baskets, and daily good marketing, you’ll get a big boost in your gift basket business income. Millions go online typing in gift basket-related inquiries daily. I hope you find these gift basket business tips useful. Happy Internet marketing!

My daughter and her roommate put bamboo baskets to good use when designing the scheme of their first apartment. They are an inexpensive and practical way to give your home a stylish oriental theme.

When my daughter moved in to her first apartment with a girlfriend after college she was keen to make her mark on the décor. The girls each had some basic bedroom furniture and purchased a few items for the lounge and dining area. They were both working but having to pay off student loans left them with very little to spend on decorating. Yet they were keen to decorate the apartment to reflect their personalities rather than house a collection of ill-matching cast-offs from friends and relatives.

They spent a few weeks getting the place in order before asking us over for dinner. Knowing she’d always liked bamboo baskets I chose one that I filled with towels and toiletries to give her as a house warming gift. She laughed as soon as she saw me at the door with it: I didn’t know what was so funny until I walked into the living room. They had picked a number of bamboo baskets and used them to decorate the room as they are both practical and cheap. My daughter and her roommate had also carried this theme around the room by dressing the floor with grass mats used as area rugs and finishing off with bamboo placemats on the dining table.

She was eager to show me her bedroom, where she had also followed eastern inspiration for the design. She had selected three feet tall, vase-shaped bamboo baskets that she was using as lamp stands, with a circular piece of glass on top to create a flat surface for bedside lamps and alarm clock. She had also chosen more bamboo baskets in her closet to sort her laundry in and use as a hamper.

They had yet to start making their mark on the bathroom when we visited. The gift basket I had brought was the first decorative item to go in that room, and seemed to be in keeping with the rest of the apartment. As it was very much neutral it would go with any color scheme they end up selecting.

The bathroom area was the last area they had left to decorate. The gift basket I had brought was the first decorative item in the room; it certainly fit with the décor of the rest of the apartment. The basket was neutral enough to fit with any color scheme. My daughter said she had been thinking about getting bamboo baskets to use on the floor for towels as their linen closet was on the small side. She reckoned it would be easy enough for her to find ones that would go with the one I had brought.

I know from experience that there is nothing quite like being able to make your mark on your first home with your own earnings. My daughter has impeccable taste and I know that as her career develops she will be able to continue working on her design scheme.

Putting together a gift basket for a newborn baby can be one of the most enjoyable gift arrangements you’ll ever create. Little babies can take even the most hardened person and turn them into a bowl of jello. When a baby smiles at us, we can see the innocence in that little life. Our blood pressure will drop a bit when we’re in the presence of a newborn. Many people wish that their baby would stay tiny and innocent forever. With all of this in mind, putting a baby gift basket together can be very enjoyable experience.

Some “must have” items to start a basket would be diapers and baby wipes. Every newborn is going to need diapers, and if you ask any new mother, she’ll agree that they’re a really great gift. Baby clothes are another excellent item to add to a baby gift basket, especially if you know the gender of the baby. Most babies find comfort when they have something to suck on and it can satisfy and quiet them when they’re cranky. With this in mind, pacifiers, baby bottles, and sipper cups make excellent additions to the baby gift basket. Another useful item that can be put in the gift basket is a two way monitor. By using a two way monitor, a parent can hear when the baby awakes from anywhere in the house. This will allow mom and dad to get things done around the house or get a good night’s rest while the baby is sleeping and not be worried.

What Not to Include in a Baby Gift Basket

Even though everyone who purchases or creates a baby gift basket means well, there are some things that should not be included. Some may get toys for the baby, but some toys can cause harm to newborns. Toys with small parts may be a potential choking hazard for both infants and small children. Before purchasing such toys, look for a label from the toy manufacturer that has the recommended age group for which the toy is intended.

Other items that may not be a good gift idea include shampoos, soaps, and ointments. Some newborns have skin sensitivities or allergies, and unless it is a very popular brand, it is best to let the parents choose skin and hair care items. Also, it’s a good idea to avoid adding baby food and formula to the basket. Many mothers will take their time, or change their mind before making a final decision on how they want to feed their infant. Some mothers will choose to nurse their baby and others will not. This is a very personal decision and a mother may be offended if they feel someone is trying to influence their decision. Baby gift baskets are a wonderful idea, and with a little effort, they will be greatly appreciated by both the baby and the proud parents.

The holidays are coming up and that means only one thing: presents. Many people on your list can be pretty easy to buy for, while others can be a real challenge. For me, buying for the men in my life has always been a bit of a hassle. I wanted to find something that they liked and would get a lot of use out of at the same time.

Are you looking for a good gift idea for the man in your life? Are you never quite sure what to get him, and worry about buying the wrong thing? Does he have t-shirts and ties you have gotten him hidden in the back of your closet? Even if your man is hard to buy for, there are great ideas out there. If you cannot think of a good gift for your man or are tired of giving him the same old thing, consider a gift basket filled with his favorite goodies. Most men have some type of hobby- and our personal favorite is of course NASCAR.

You can purchase gift baskets online, but if you do not have enough time for it to be shipped, you can check your local stores. There may be stores that specifically make gift baskets listed in the phone book. If not, you might contact a local florist as many of them also make gift baskets for special occasions. If you cannot find a local shop and you do not have time to order online, do not panic. Making your own basket is easy enough. You can purchase a basket at any crafts store, use a blanket, apron, or paper to line it and stuff it full of goodies for your man!

Here is our favorite gift idea for the Nascar fan of the household:

NASCAR Gift Basket – NASCAR fans love almost anything NASCAR gift related. You can fill your man’s basket with his favorite driver’s toy replica cars or a coffee cup with his favorite driver’s number and colors. You can add to the basket a hat, t-shirt, bumper stickers, coasters, magnets, or a key chain. Does your man like to play darts? There are even NASCAR darts! If you really want to give him something extra special, order tickets to his favorite NASCAR race ahead of time and hide those in his basket.

You really have no excuse to get him something old and boring this holiday season. Nascar is hotter than ever and there are so many gifts centered around the sport, that you can easily choose something to keep him happy with! So start searching for fun Nascar goodies and give your man something this holiday season that he will really be proud to call his own. Enjoy!
